learnd had been working with Gofor for a few years as one of its multiple fleet suppliers. When learnd were struggling to source a particular vehicle, Gofor stepped in, and that proactive approach ultimately led to Gofor’s appointment as sole fleet partner in January 2023.
As a growing business, learnd needed a fleet partner that could procure low emission fleet vehicles and also provide full fleet management to reduce the administrative load internally. It was critical for learnd that its fleet approach aligned to the business’ focus on the environmental, social and governance (ESG) agenda - with a clear objective to reduce the carbon footprint of the company vehicles.
learnd opted to work with Gofor on a full fleet management basis – taking advantage of services including licence checking and accident management.
To make managing learnd’s fleet of around 100 vehicles simple, Gofor implemented its online fleet management platform and arranged set up for its drivers on the driver app, within just days of contract agreement. The technology keeps fleet managers and drivers up to date and makes it easy to track upcoming renewals and manage contract mileages.
As part of the agreement, Gofor are also undertaking a mileage review to ensure drivers are on the correct mileage package and assess any early opportunities to save money for the business.
learnd had already selected Tesla as its preferred electric vehicle fleet manufacturer following employee feedback, Gofor facilitated adding the Model Y and more than a third of the company fleet now consists of Teslas. In addition, Gofor is managing the remainder of the fleet which comprises a mixture of hybrid cars.
learnd has also installed workplace charging points and is also supporting its engineers with home charging installation where needed, to make the experience as smoothas possible for its employees. learnd Group Health, Safety & Compliance Manager, Andrew Bishop, explains the importance of decarbonising the company fleet:
“Gofor’s expertise in transitioning us to a lower carbon fleet has been invaluable. At learnd, Net Zero isn´t just an end goal, it's a philosophy we integrate into every decision, so it’s crucial that our company cars align to our overall vision to help decarbonise our future.
We are so pleased to see the scheme delivering benefits and the take up of electric vehicles in the business has been really strong. We’re delighted to be improving the vehicles available to our teams whilst dramatically reducing the carbon impact of the work we undertake for our customers.”

The next step is the roll out of a salary sacrifice scheme which will enable non-company car drivers to exchange a portion of their gross salary for a fully maintained electric vehicle, which is highly tax efficient for both the employee and employer. The scheme typically enables the employee to access an electric vehicle at a better rate than through a personal contract, with employee on-boarding now underway through a series of webinars and Gofor’s new driver portal.
learnd now runs a decarbonised company car scheme which aligns to the business’ overall vision. learnd is looking forward to rolling out salary sacrifice and expects the new scheme to have longer term benefits around employee attraction and retention.
Paul Reeves, Account Manager for Gofor commented:
“The Gofor approach is to partner with our customers for the long term and the learnd team know that we are there to support them every step of the way. I’m delighted to say that learnd are really pleased with our fleet management solution and the speed of implementation. We look forward to supporting learnd for many years to come.”
