Welcome to the second edition of Proactive, our monthly newsletter. We'll continue to publish monthly and in it, you can expect a reflection on some of the latest trends and stories across our industry and two main products, fleet management and salary sacrifice for electric vehicles, alongside insights into some of our client partnerships.
Key Insights from BVRLA Fleets in Charge Webinar
Gofor's Paul Reeves joined the latest instalment in the BVRLA's Fleets in Charge programme in April, looking at the challenges and opportunities within the UK’s growing EV charging infrastructure.
In his latest article, Paul's reflected on this engaging, positive session on the future of electric vehicles and shared his key takeaways, covering:
✔ The demands from commercial vehicle operators for more infrastructure progress
✔ The initiatives that will help infrastructure manage 10million EVs on the UK's roads
✔ The role government will play in a successful EV charging infrastructure
Paul’s article is available in full here.
On-the-road
We've had a busy month, out-and-about at a number of key industry events. From a tradeshow perspective, account managers Kash Hussain and Paul Reeves attended The Great British Fleet Event in Milton Keynes, with Kash commenting:
The event was a great opportunity to meet with so many peers and to talk all things fleet. Conversations around decarbonisation, electrification and value dominated the agenda and gave me lots of useful detail to take back to our customers.
We were also in attendance at the Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham, the UK's largest road freight transport, distribution, and logistics event for the CV and fleet sectors, and an excellent opportunity to network and discuss the big CV trends.
Michael Hook, operational growth manager, attended on behalf of Gofor. On reflecting on a session held by one of our partners, Leaseplan, that focussed on reducing fleet risk and improving driver safety, Michael commented:
The session made me think how the little things we take for granted can have such a big impact on reducing risk. The best example I can think of is vehicle checks, super easy to carry out but often something that companies can let slide.
If you are not doing them then getting started is a must, and if you are but still recording on paper forms then you do need to think about going digital.
Delivering van fleet efficiency for htec
As we look back on the month where we attended the Commercial Vehicle Show at Birmingham's NEC takes, it made sense to publish our latest case study, looking at our partnership with enterprise management software provider htec, part of PDI Technologies
htec required a partner to manage their predominantly van fleet more effectively and needed to ensure their drivers had all the support needed to minimise their administration.
It’s a partnership that's delivered:
✔ A more efficiently managed fleet with htec being one of our most active driver technology users
✔ Deep dive mileage forecasting, saving costs as a result
✔ htec's desire to transition to a sole provider for their fleet needs
